Our Story

Founded in 2021 in Guwahati, Assam, Purvoday Biofuels was born from a simple conviction: that the abundant biomass of Northeast India should not be burned as waste, but harnessed as wealth.

In just four years, we have built on-ground biomass operations that span feedstock procurement, pellet manufacturing, and market linkages. Our name, Purvoday, means "Dawn of the East" in Sanskrit and Assamese, capturing both our geography and our optimism.

The Northeast is not merely a suitable location for bioenergy. It is the most strategic location in all of South Asia, blessed with year-round rainfall, vast bamboo forests, millions of tonnes of agricultural residue, and a dense network of rivers that make logistics viable. We are here not by convenience, but by conviction.

Our Journey

2021

Company incorporated in Guwahati, Assam. Biomass pellet manufacturing commenced with initial procurement networks across local farming communities.

2022

Feedstock procurement networks established across Assam and neighboring Northeast states. Partnerships with farmer cooperatives and bamboo growers formalized.

2023

Production capacity expanded with enhanced pellet lines. Technical team expanded. First large-scale industrial offtake agreements signed with brick kilns and tea estates.

2024

Deep market linkages with industrial buyers and government bodies built. AREDA and MNRE engagement strengthened. Entrepreneur mentorship programme launched.

2025+

CBG plant development initiated. Expansion into full-spectrum bioenergy, from pellets to compressed biogas for the entire Northeast region.
